A Mixed Beginning

My first attempt at art.

Originally, I started with dark colors (in the lower right) to depict the general sadness I feel when I consider the past year or so, but that wasn't a way to begin the book I thought.

I decided the sky was a brighter place to start (the upper left). I left a white sun at first, then cross colored it yellow to show that it does fill a spot each day.

The tree came next, dark colors again, as I listened to my heart again. The lavender did seem to beg use, so I found its place as the canopy of the trunk.

The remaining "empty" space shows how incomplete life seems at this point.
